Bongani Baloyi Joins MK Party

Bongani Baloyi, the former mayor of Midvaal, has officially joined the MK Party, marking a significant shift in his political career. This move also signals the end of his former political organisation, as he confirmed that the party he once led will soon be deregistered. Baloyi added that its remaining members would be incorporated into the MK Party structure, further consolidating their political influence.

Baloyi’s decision mirrors the actions of several high-profile political figures who have also made the move to the MK Party in recent times. Among the notable names is Floyd Shivambu, who previously held a key position in the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) but has now assumed the role of National Organiser for the MK Party. His switch highlights the growing appeal of the MK Party to former members of other established political groups.

Other figures who have recently joined the MK Party include Mzwanele Manyi and Colleen Makhubele. Manyi, a well-known figure in South African politics, brings a wealth of experience with him, while Makhubele, who formerly served as the Chair of Chairs in the City of Johannesburg and was previously a member of the Congress of the People (COPE), adds further depth to the MK Party’s leadership team.
